Brakes problem
1988 Other Mercedes Benz Models V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 200000 miles

the abs light comes on and the brakes squeal, sometimes it does not come on and all is fine. is there a disconnection a wire what I am at a loss

Hi there, first check all the brakes physically, pads retaining clips, hydraulics ABS sensors and wires are ok, the squeal may be just a glazed disc, your pre inspection will determine any mechanical fault. The ABS fault may be a faulty wheel sensor, you will have to check for a fault code, it should determine which wheel is at fault.
