1982 Other Mercedes Benz Models 185000 miles

I have a 1982 300D. It has the 5 cylinder turbo diesel. It started blowing the #8 fuse (blower motor, a/c compressor, idle stabilization) when the climate control is being used. The a/c compressor was replaced about 1.5 years ago. I thought the two wires plugged into the compressor were touching. I fixed that issue, but the fuse still blows. Any advice on checking the rest of the system would be appreciated.
