1972 Other Mercedes Benz Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

The lever next to the steering column on my Mercedes Benz 600 is meant to stiffen the suspension, but when I pull it I don't notice any change. should this be something to be concerned about or is the car designed so that this change isn't noticeable?

You should feel some difference in the ride, i would be getting a tech to check the system out, we have no info on this older model at this time, so i am unable to send you any information.
