My car just started losing power right after a fill up with gas. My son two weeks ago let it go way below E and it did the same thing. I put in a gas treatment and it went away until today. The only difference was the treatment the first time was in an empty tank this time it was full when I put it in. Will this go away or do I need to replace the fuel filter or something else. Any suggestions....

A fuel filter may not be a bad idea. There is usually some sediment at the bottom of the tank and when they really low all this gets picked up and set to the filter. You've got a lot of miles and this is probably a good idea to replace anyways, and maybe the root cause of your problem.

Thank you. I upgraded the fuel filter and ended up replacing the fuel pump, I was able to get one at a salvage yard for $110. It was very labor intensive, trying to remember where everything went back :) I think I have done very well with this car, she 4 wheels all the time and those are my 257 mile in just 5 years. I try to take pretty good care of her.

Your definately right on labor intensive. ML pumps and filters are one job that I never look forward to doing. The placement of components is poor to say the least.
