In my car, the dual external cooling fans are no longer coming on. When I run the air conditioner and I am sitting in traffic, the air conditioner stops working and the car begins heating up. I was told I need to replace both fans for about $400 each including labor. However, why would both fans stop working at once? Are they using the same motor? If it is one motor for two fans, why would both fans need replacing? Could it be an electrical problem? Should I get another opinion?
Also, I am not sure about the engine size for my car but I believe it is a 6 cylinder.

Hi
Use a test light place on Black/White wires going to fan with engine on A/C on is there voltage at each connector?

I ended up having the fans replaced, but then I found a puddle of brown coolant under the car. The repair man told me that there is transmission fluid in the radiator and it overflowed. He could not tell me why this is happening but said that I need to have the radiator replaced and the transmission and radiator flushed. If this is not solving the root cause of the problem, won't it just happend again? How would transmission fluid get into the radiator?

The radiator is used to cool trans. fluid it circulates in an internal tank inside radiator and sometimes they reuture and get into coolant. So new radiator will solve and should not reoccure for many years oif at all.
