1995 Mercedes Benz E250 gauges

I had similar problem. I replaced the sender unit but it doesn't work. Then I realized to removed the gauge from the instrument panel and tested it with 9V battery and it worked fine. After refitting gauge back to instrument panel it has worked ok since then. I assume there was just some contact problem in the panel. Try to check it.
