1997 Mercedes Benz C280 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive 140000 miles

My wife was driving, heard a click inside the car and her seatbelt unrolled from the side panel. My question is how do you replace a driver side seat belt?

Hi there,

I would recommend that you see your Mercedes Benz dealer as these seat belts have pretensioners that are connected to the air bag SRS system. one small error in judgment could be very expensive.

I appreciate your advice but isn't there a replacement process for replacing the seatbelt? I have worked on cars (head gasgets, drive belts, tensioners shocks etc.)and if I look at the steps and they are beyond my ability I would defer to the experts.

Is there any specific steps available for replacing the driver side seatbelt in a 1997 Mercedes C280? I made a donation a couple weeks ago hoping to get a better answer than, "...go to your dealer." I have a replacement seatbelt assembly with pretensioner but would appreciate a couple tips.
