1996 Mercedes Benz 500sl soft top not operational

the fluid may be low if you can here the pump stop running.the resivior and pump are in the trunk under the spare tire.if its low you have a leak.look for oil around the rams,most common would be the windsheid pillar rams,but they all leak.go to the benz store for the correct fluid.if the lighted top switch starts flashing you have a switch out of time or faulty.im good at these,write me back if i can help.good luck
