1980 Mercedes Benz 450slc V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 112k miles

Hi,my car starts and ticks over well,but when i accelerate it backfires until the engine is hot,then it runs perfectly.Thank you

Hi there,

This will normally be a mixture problem, this type of backfire is usually due to a lean mixture, you may have a vacuum leak during warm up or a problem with the injection system, you will need to have this investigated.
