1976 Mercedes Benz 450sl It turns over but it won't start

1976 Mercedes Benz 450sl V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have made sure that there is fuel getting to the regulator. It is getting fuel but it still won't start. As long as i we put fuel into the carb or spray some starting fluid into it it will start.
