Electrical problem
1981 Mercedes Benz 300sd Two Wheel Drive Automatic 172000 miles
I have an 81 mercedes 300SD. The tach and speedo work rarely. Here's what is going on with the speedo. If I hit a bump in the road that sometimes causes it to work and if I hit another bump it stops. 99% of the time it doesn't come on. I'm assuming there is a bad connection on the trans. Could someone tell me the color of the wire that is the hot and ground for the speedo and exactly where on the trans it is going. The tach has no rhyme or reason when it works, but I'm assuming it is the same problem. A bad wire. When the care is running there is power getting to the tach, so I'm assuming the ground is bad on the engine side. I have no idea where the wires go to on the engine. Can anyone help please.
