1993 Mercedes Benz 190e 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 120k miles

How do I access the fan motor. I believe there is debris or an object in the fan due to the noise it makes.

Remove cover at air inlet. Loosen firewall, unscrewing screws at left and right for this purpose. Pull firewall forward, up to engine. Remove wiper arm. Unscrew screws on wiper linkage. Set wiper linkage, with motor, aside. Loosen clamping straps and unclip clamps laterally and at top. Lift out cover in upward direction. Blower motor should be accessable now.
