car temperature soon goes up

Hello,

This could be due to the radiator cooling fan(s) not working properly.
When the vehicle is stationary, the cooling fan kicks in to cool the engine. If the fan does not work properly, it can make the engine run hot when at a stop or in traffic. Usually as the car starts to move the temperature goes back down.

Inoperative cooling fans can be due to a bad relay, wiring issue or bad fan motor.
First check the relay. It is located under the hood on the left-hand side in the engine compartment (see diagram below).

Check for corrosion and burn pin(s).

If the relay is good, check to see if you are getting power to the fan harness, if there is power but the fan is inoperative then the issue is a bad fan motor.
