Hi.
I'm mechanically inclined, but not a mechanic. I'm sure I can change the radiator fluid in my Mazda B3000 pickup (6 cyl). Can someone please give me an easy step-by-step how to do it? I live in Detroit and it's starting to get cold!
Thanks! :)

Well its rather easy. There is a drain at the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side of the vehicle. Simply open it and let the coolant drain out of the radiator. This is the easiest way to change MOST of your coolant. If however it is really really dirty.....you might think about taking it to a local shop to have the coolant system flushed out.

Some simple things you can do is remove the coolant line to the heater core on the passenger side firewall of your truck and flush some water with a garden hose through, just to clean up the heater core a bit, or remove the bottom drain hose from the water pump and stick the garden hose in the upper rad hose to flush out the block.

Just make sure that you use the proper coolant and proper mix of coolant to protect your engine from freezing weather. And of course please dispose of your coolant in a respnisble manner.
