Just bought a 2004 Tribute S with 21,500 miles. Tribute has an almost new set of Continental Contitrac SUV tires on it.

The front tires are wearing a bit on the inside tread and perfectly on the rest of the tire. Is this an alignment issue? Will a 4 wheel alignment and proper tire rotation solve this issue?

There is a ton of road noise which I assume is due to the 520 tread wear being a hard compound. Am I correct in any/all of these assumptions?

Thanks for any ideas...

FYI -- I recently found another site where other Mazda Tribute owners were talking about tire wear and some said that the Mazda specs are off. Because of that, the tires have a tendency of cupping.

Well, I've had the same problem over the years and sometimes the noise from the tire(s) is unbearable. And, my Tribute was built upon a truck platform so it's never been as quiet as a car.

In your situation, what was done and how has it helped?
