1996 Mazda RX7 car missing between 1500 and 2000 revs

Engine Performance problem
1996 Mazda RX7 Two Wheel Drive Manual 107ks miles

while in neutral if i hold the throttle between 1500 and 2000 revs the revs fluctuate up and down, driving the car the miss is not apparent and things seem normal.
do you have any suggestions, please advise?

Check your fuel pressure could be that the pressure regulator not maintaining the pressure, dirty injector/s clogged fuel filter etc and a badly needed tune-up
