1990 Mazda RX7 Stuck in reverse

stuck in reverse
and wont go in to nutural. will shift but no matter what place first or second ect. when I release the clutch its still in reverse or it dies no matter what gear I put it in. And still again I cant get it in to nutural.

Hi
Suspect shifter to control lever connecton fault. Pull up shift boot to access remover shift retainer see control lever end is it attached ? is shifter ball in socket? any damage?
