I have a 2002 mazda Protege ES. It is Automatic and a 4cly 2L engine. There is a sound coming from the front left tire everytime I drive. The faster I go the faster the noise the slower I go the noise slows down. Then when I am breaking there is no noise and there is no noise when I am backing up. I have gone to have my breaks looked at by a mechanic and ever since then I have been having this problem...I was wondering if they could have done something or if it is something else Please help.

If the noise is a hum or a moan replace the left front wheel bearing. When you drive this vehicle and the noise changes from left to right turn motions and the noise is more prominant on turning to the right replace the left bearing. Please reply

Hello, and thank you for responding. It is a hum noise, and it is only when I am driving the noise happens. Turning, straight whatever...the noise is there. But when I am backing up it goes away. When I turn the car on in the mornings after it has been sitting over night there is no noise, but once I break the noise is there and will stay there, so could it be my breaks? or you still think it is a wheel bearing?
