1999 Mazda Protege replace an electric driver side mirror o

I was told to POP the plastic cap on the inside of the door & remove the 3 screws. Is there anything else holding the plastic cap in place under the door panel?

cap is just snapped into place, use flat blade tool to remove it. procedures for replacing your side mirror are below..
