1993 Mazda Protege my brake lights won't turn off

1993 Mazda Protege Front Wheel Drive Manual

when my lights are on - the top and right back brake stay on even when the brake pedal is not being pushed. i really am car illeterate but i do know that this is not a good thing...help?

First of all it sounds like you have a left rear brake light out........ There is a brake light switch under the dash mounted on the brake pedal assembly. Sounds liek yours has broken or backed out of adjustment.You might be able to seeit without removing any panles, but then again you may have to remove the lowest one , just above your feet to see the switch
