2004 mazda rx8 rotary engine 42k miles 6 spd transmission
I got a evap system leak (large) trouble code. i replaced the old gas cap with a new one and deleted the trouble code. a couple days later i got it again. so i reset it again. a few days after thast i got it again when i started up my car. it had trouble starting though, it started ion the first try but lagged a little bit. my car seems to be running ok so i reset the code again and for the past day i have had no check engine light. where could the "(large)" leak be that the code indicates and what can i do to repair it myself. the only thing out of the ordinary with my car is that i have an AEM cold air intake. every time i reset the code it takes at least 40 miles of stop and go/freeway driving to get the check engine light again. ... but i have to admit the idle on the car acts a little funny but then again it has ever since i bought it about 3000 miles ago. i just had the car repaired for a spark plug coil that was not working and that caused a misfire in cylinder 1.
