2003 Mazda 6i sedan 2.3L engine with 41,000 miles.

I've recently replaced my spark plugs and since that time, the vehicle's engine light has come on and the engine runs terribly rough with a lot of hesitations. The idle is rough, however, as I drive it in reverse and Drive, it gets really rough. Please help!
