I have a 2002 Mazda Tribute with about 80,000 miles on it. Twice in the past month (about two weeks apart) my car has started fine but died if I didn't keep my foot on the gas petal. After I keep the gas petal pressed for about 5 minutes the car with keep idle just fine. My car is in the shop right now and it's not acting up for them to solve the problem. I have put in a new air filter and had an oil change lately. I have never had a "tune up" on the car. Any thoughts? Thank you for your input!

Might want to have the IACV, CTS,TPS and MAF sensors check.

Subject: Mazda Help Thank you so much for your timely response! Is there a way to check the IAC Valve to see if it's the problem? I have read that it is pretty easy to repair or replace. Thanks again! Your advice surely helped a ton! The mechanic that has my car right now didn't offer any suggestions since it has been starting and idling fine. I am going to pick it up and try to fix it myself before I take it to the dealer for a diagnostic. (Pretty brave for a girl, eh???) Try yourself on this-show me what you got for the IACV
