I live in alaska and my cooling is not working it heats up I have put a new cap and thermostat, water pump seems to work the coolent seems to end up in the resavor had worked fie all summer

Are you overheating? my cooling is not working it heats up-explain what you meant by this-don't quite get it-

THE gauge reads hot im sure it is as I have to add fluid and my res is full after I add it gose down and the heater will work could this be a head

Could be air lock in the cooling system-get it bleed and see what happens-if it continues get it block and pressure tested to ID a blown headgasket/cracked head or block.
