Hi, i recently installed a 12" sub and amp etc, which worked fine but the main power cable to the + terminal of the battery was loose (so sub didnt go intermittently) and i was driving along when it came on (really loud) and stopped the car. got towed home and tried to jump the car but it doesnt start, it just cranks for ages. hmmm. that was smart.
im new to electrics and stuff but i fixed up the connections and after disconnecting the sound system i followed the manual a bit and did several tests on the car:
-checked all fuses -all fine. (not sure about relays, in line fuses etc)
-battery connections, terminals etc
-there was no fuel coming to the engine, but made connection in the diagnosis socket/plug GRD to F/P and now it works.
-tested the spark plugs for spark, there was none. The distributor connections are fine, its getting power, and the coil is fine as i checked the primanry + secondary resistance.
I dont know what else to do? Im pretty sure i fried some electrics when the system came on. someone said to me that if your battery connections are loose then you can get massive voltage spikes from the engine which can wipe out loads of electrics. I was gonna check the ICM in the distributor because apparently they are [shizzle] in this car but i dont know?
Im going to assume that there might be other big problems as well.
