Brake piston

This is concerning my 1993 Mazda MX3 it has 125,000 miles with 1.8. I am trying to change my brake pads. I can not compress the caliper piston. I asked someone what to do and they said to pump the brakes to release some pressure in the brake. Now the piston is out quite aways. I tryed a 3" c-clamp but that was to small. Will give me some advice on how to push the piston back in.

put the block of wood in where the rotor would be. using screwdrivers slowely try to move the caliper back in. alternate between the sides of the caliper. The caliper might have come out too far amd ned to be rerpaired or replaced. sometimes they bind up and have to be replaced under normal wear. The pumping it up when there was no brake pads in place only tightenes the caliper up more. If this does not work have the caliper serviced or replaced.
