Hello,
Here is a test video to see if the valve is bad once you get it off.

EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1.Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2.Remove the air cleaner.
3.Disconnect the vacuum hose.
4.Disconnect the EGR pipe.
5.Remove in the order indicated below.
1.EGR valve connector
2.EGR pipe
3.EGR valve
6.Install in the reverse order of removal.
7.Connect the negative battery cable.
Check out the diagrams (Below)
Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
