Transmission problem
1994 Mazda MPV 6 cyl Automatic

I've had this van a couple months and never had a problem with it. Have an important trip this week - not funds for a major repair or rental car. I checked the manual which indicates it's a problem with the electronics in the transmission. Is there any ideas how serious this is? How expensive?

My 1993 did the same thing a month ago, however, the speedometer also stopped working. HAd to replace the instrument cluster, problem solved. Cost 50 bucks at a wreckers and 20 minutes.

Thankfully there have been no more issues - the van made it to Nashville, around town and back with no problems. It'll have some time off before going to IL next month. One of those things that when I need it I *really* need it!
