Engine Performance problem
1994 Mazda MPV 6 cyl Automatic

My Mazda MPV 1995 van was suddenly stopped while driving. The engine turns over and sounds like its getting ready to start but it does not start. Please suggest what could the possible problem. I replaced the fuel filter and checked the mass air sensor and fuel filter and pressure regulator and pressure dampner all of which were not the problem. Also there was a strong fuel smell inside the van prior to this

Check that the plugs are not fuel fouled, check for a good spark, if you have a good park, clean or replace plugs, if no spark run a diagnostic scan and check for any unresolved fault codes, post your findings her for more assistance if required.

The EGR will not stop the engine from running, you will have to check that you have spark at the plugs, fuel pressure and injection pulse.

attached gauge pressure is fine has spark. before this strong odor of gas filled inside car

An egr that is stuck open will prevent it from starting.
Also check for a broken gas line.
