Rain water leaking inside under passenger side seat

You should try to verify the source of the leak before attempting to rectify it. It could be something else.

Remove the floor carpet, at least move them to enable you to see the floor bopard. Dry up the area and use a garden hose to spray on the car, starting from the lower part and going up till you notice any leaks.

Continue until you can find the source.

As to the drain hoses, for sun roofs they are located inside the front and rear pillars, rear going to the side fenders.

Please do not follow the last user's response. I own a 2006 Miata and I know exactly what is going on with your car.
There is a defect in the 2006 and 2007's drainage system. Mazda has never done a recall on it. The defect causes the water to pool on the floors of the cab and in the spaces between the back of your seat to the trunk.
Mazda wants $1,000.00 to replace the old drainage system.
A friend of mine used a trombone cleaner to push the dirt out of the drains on either side and does this monthly. I tried it, but it did not work for me.
I am trying to see if I can order the new drain system which costs about $100.00 and find a mechanic who knows what they are doing to put it in. I will keep you posted.

Shelley, were you able to find the part(s) and did this rectify the problem? I just bought an 2006 and was utterly unaware of this issue until the floors filled with water. I did know about the drain holes but they were open and seemed to not be the source of the trouble.

If replacing the system worked for you, can you tell me the parts?
