1999 Mazda b3000 it has a miss

This truck has a miss that is erratically noticeable at high speed and under a load. You can also feel it at lower speeds but only very sightly.
new plugs,wires,fuel filter, exhaust system checked,sensors checked, codes checked. changed where and grade of gas bought.
it started to be noticeable to me 3-4 months ago is getting worse. It has been to 3 shops and a dealership. No one can seem to tell me what is wrong. the only thing that has come up, and that was today ,is that the# plug has a miss - that being said the plugs were changed about 3 months ago in an effort to fix/ find the issues .
can anyone help with this!!!!!

Hi there,

There is only one way to track these problems down and that is to have a dyno run. This will load the engine and you can see the ignition pattens and test all components . This will be the only way to track down your problem.

Any luck with this problem? My 1999 B3000SE V6 4x4 started doing the exact same thing last week. I have an appointment to have the truck put on a scope tomorrow. I'd rather not pay the $85 they want just to diagnose if it's just a matter of plugs, wires and fuel filter.

Hi,

I am not sure if my guess is correct.

If the EGR valve is located on the manifold of the said cylinder, then you need to check for the operations of it. The sensor might be ok, it is the controlling devices like the TPS and purge solenoid or vacumn.

Last weekend I replaced the plugs,wires, fuel filter and coil pack (local Mazda service center suggested that). Truck ran fine for about a day and then my miss started again. Took it to Advanced Auto and they hooked up their code reader. It says #2 cylinder misfire. I guess the only thing left is to take it into the dealership let them hook it up to their analyzer.

My problem turned out to be a bad fuel injector on the #2 cylinder. I had it replaced and the truck runs like new again. 22 mpg!
