2ce this week, after going down hill each time- the transmission disengaged. All was well, then upon leaving the stop sign- it acted as if it was in neutral for 3 seconds and took off and drove normal again. There has been no change in drivability other than this. Fluid and filter was done @ 60K. Fuid is ripe for a change again. Not burnt smelling- but losing it's redness. Level is good (actually above full as that is how the trans shop set it 6 years ago)
SO does it seem as though I am looking at a major deal or perhaps something easy?

Hi
Best thing to do is have trans scanned for codes and solenoid /sensor operation. Problem maybe faulty sensor and not hard part failure requiring rebuild
Hope this helps
Thanks for donate

Would a basic code scan say at Auto Zone also read trans codes? I d haven't had a CEL if that makes a diference.

The scan is done with a diagonistic scan tool must be done by a trained Tech. The term scanner has been misrepresented for a code reader which is what your refering to.
