I just received back my repaired ECU from AvPro (read high marks about this company on another forum).

Before I reinstall it I had read that it is [b:0fbb9b51f0][u:0fbb9b51f0]critically[/u:0fbb9b51f0][/b:0fbb9b51f0] important to check for ohm values regarding solenoids/relays, and that all must be over 20 ohms or it can damage the repaired ECU.

I have an electronic background (and the pathetic after market Hayne's manual), but I do not know where to check these values, or for that matter, whether it is really [u:0fbb9b51f0]critically[/u:0fbb9b51f0] important.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have read on this forum that many people have replaced their ECUs in B-Series Mazda trucks.

Has anyone heard about having to 'reprogram' their ECU after having replaced/reinstalled the repaired unit?

Mazda said that this will cost $99 and then if the truck does not run smoothly it will be another $99 to do further diagnostic checks.

Seems like it may just be a way to get more and more money.

FWIW.... I am the original poster. (lost password so had to re-register)
