Car starts fine when cold but doesn't start when I stop after driving for awhile, ie, 20 minutes to shop, the car won't sart when I come back out until it cools.
Took it to Mazda Dealer and they put in new O2 Senser for $600. It seemed to work for a little while,250 miles and now is doing it agian. Mazda said that type of work not gauranteed.
I tried to submit question and donation last night but the page said incorrect dollar amout 3 different times so i gave up.
Please help me as I am on MediCal and have had 4 major surgeries in the last year and am out of money!
Thank you, humbel

Hi humbel,

Thank you for the donation.

First thing we need to do is to perform some test to find out what is missing causing the non starting.

Click the " First Things To Check " link at bottom of page to get an idea how to go about checking and let me know the outcome.

If the Check Engine Light is indicating, get a free scan done at Autozone and let me know the EXACT trouble code.

Thank you KHLow2008,
I have more info. for you.
There was no "check engine light" on. Mazda installed a "AIR CONTROL VALVE" for $600. but the car still won't start when warm unless the vaccum hose that is attatched to the air control valve is removed. What do I do?
Please help if you can,
humbel

As problem is temperature related, check the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. Use a scan tool to monitor if it is working within specs.

Removing the air hose to enable starting could mean a fuel related problem. Check if the spark plugs are showing indications of proper, rich or lean combustions.

Did you perform test to find out if it is sparks or fuel related?
