2000 Mazda 626 Overdrive problem

My wife's 626 is having problems with the Overdrive. the ODO light blinks on and off and the car begins to jerk. The car will not stay in overdrive to keep the RPMs down while driving

Thank you for the donation.

The trans management system has detected a fault in the system and the OD light flashing is a warning indicator to inform you.

Seems the Overdrive is not working.

You need to retrieve the Diagnostic Trouble Code to understand what is wrong. Most part stores does the servce either free or foer a nimonal fee. Get it done and let me know the exact Code and we shall proceed from there.

Btw please let me know the transmission model as well.
