I JUST PURCHASED A CAR FOR $850.00. HOWEVER, IT NEEDS SOME WORK. I GOT 2 REPAIR ESTIMATES. $1200 , AND $800.00. I WAS TOLD IT IS THE FRONT TIE ROD AND AXLE. I THINK THESE PRICES ARE TOO HIGH. WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON IT?[img:36d89a719f]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/538865_DVC05701_1.jpg[/img:36d89a719f]

They both sound high for what parts you listed, the only way it could come that close is if the tie rod/inner socket assembly isnt available seperatly and the entire rack and pinion has to be replaced as a unit.
