Starting in park or neutral , grinding sound like bendix drive still engaged. Sound goes away when in reverse or drive. Shifting back into neutral or park grind noise worse

Might be an accessory doing that. Remove the belt and see if it still does it, but dont run it long without a belt.See if you can locate where the noise is, front or rear of engine
