I recently washed my engine while it was running. Due to the deep spark plug cavities, I believe I might have had water seep past the rubber boots causing a misfire. The car idled rough stalling and popping. I took off the boots and made sure everything was clean and dry, as I suspected, there was some moisture in the boots. The problem resolved; however a day later I again experienced some popping and rough idle. Once again I checked the spark plugs and found some leftover condensation. I did clean and apply electrical contact cleaner to plugs, wires and connectors. Is there something else I should check to avoid costly damage? Thank you for your help.

I would do a tune up
you have 4 cylinder it should be an easy and cheep job to do
since they still hold water
I think you should change it .
good luck
