1996 Mazda 626 Can I replace the radiator hoses on my own?

My 96 Mazda radiator hoses(upper and lower) needs to be replaced.The mechanic quoted $200 for that. I wonder if I can do that job my self so that I can save a lot of money.

Sure you can. Just located both ends of the hoses. Make sure that the engine is cold, and you have a fluid catch pan positioned underneath the hose while you do the work. Make sure you have no pets around. Pets are attracted with its sweet smell, yet poisonous.

I would start with the upper hose, radiator side first. Follow that hose to the block and remove. Install the new one. Repeat procedure with the lower hose. If your old clamps are kinda loose, replace them.
