The 100 amp main fuse was blown?

The 100 amp main fuse was blown in a charging mishap. I am trying to replace. I pulled with a plyers and the plastic crumbled and broke away. I can still get a grip on it, and have soaked it in WD40. When I pull on it, it acts as if it were attatched to something. The whole fuse box assembly seems to be connected. Am I missing something I should release?

Hi zierro,

There are 2 types of fuses used, either plug-in, and for 100 A fuses, they usually are bolted on.

Look at side of fuse box for a lid which can be flipped open with some prying. There should be 1 bolt on either side of fuse.

If you look at the pic in first post, you will see that I have removed the lid and the bolts on either side. The bolts I removed are the battery cable connector, and the cable to alterntor connector. The fuse in question is the crumbled blue and copper one in the pic. It does not want to come out.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

What I meant was the lid at side of fusebox, ie under the 2 terminal connector joints. You might have to lift the fuse box assy slightly to get t them.
