Was running rough, missing & jumping exspecially if run A/C. Would shut off when stop while a/c on, not when off. Driving down road acted like it run out of gas slowly slowing down & finally shuting off. Replaced fuel filter in gas tank but still won't run. Will turn over but won't catch. What is the problem? Please help!

Start simple here. The oil in the plug wells is not only a pain in the butt but it causes the plugs to not always fire right. There are other side effects as well. SO....go to the parts store and get a valve cover gasket kit. Make sure it comes with the seals for the plug wells.

Other things I mights suggest are cleaning up the well real good and cleaning the plugs. The wires can be effected as well and can cause the fowling of the plugs. Blowing black out the rear starts with black on the plugs and that is an indication of unburned gas. Get that job done.

Next I would check the air filter. Then I might consider having the timing of the car set. IF there is still no improvement and given the age of the car, I might consider replacing an O2 sensor.

well i never figured the o2 sensor being the problem, thanks. and ugh. i was afraid of the valve cover gasket thing. but ok, i'll give it a shot, thanks!!

Replacing the valve cover gasket is easy. One caution is to not overtighten the nuts on the cover.

yea but aint they pricey for an acura? even one as old as mine/?

You mean the valve cover gasket? No, it is rather cheap. You may not have to replace it but I would. But you definetely need to open it up and do the seals.

Once the valve cover is off and the wells are cleaned, wipe off the top of the 4 plugs wells. I put on a bit of formagasket or something that is not affected by oil to help hold the new seals in place. Wipe the inside of the cover and put it back on. Plugs and wires should be looked at. I might have mentioned that the wires could have been damaged in the oil.
