Mazda 323, 1991,260691. My car will drive but, I can't switch gears while I'm driving. I have to turn the car off in order to switch gears. If I try switching gears while driving the car will move from the first gear to neutral. It will not move from neutral until I stop the car.

If its hydraulic type-try bleeding the system master cylinder and slave.

Cable adjust it-for a start,
