2007 Mazda 3 Rattling noise

Hello! My car has a problem of engine rattling noise only upon slight acceleration or driving up a hill. The engine doesn't do this if it fully warmed up and ambient temperature warm enough. I tried to use higher octane gas and fuel system cleaners/additives and it did not help to resolve the problem. Also I took the car to dealership and they did not find the root cause of the problem. Seems like than colder temperature the noise louder. Thank you for help!

What oil and what weight of oil are you useing?

Hi racefan966!
last time I've changed oil in dealership and they put "XO*5W-20*QSP" engine oil and "BG110*MOA" oil additive according to my invoice. I must say that the car started make noise after that oil change. Before that I have used Motorcraft 5W-20 syntetic blend with no problem. What do you suggest? Thank you a lot.

I would stay with what works and not change that. If the 5w20 motorcraft with no additives makes the engine happy then let them know that is how you want it done.

Hello again!

I did change engine oil and it did not help! Any other ideas? Again, the engine has grinding (sometimes like water creek) sound at 25-30 mph (2000 rpm) only on acceleration or driving up a hill coming from passenger side of engine compartment. There is no noise if the weather is warm. Appreciate your help.

Ok this car should still be under warranty isn't it. I would have the hub assembly checked for a bad bearing and have the water pump and idler pulley and such checked to. But if this car is under warranty take advantage of it and have them fix it. Get back to me.
