Hi,

As far as the vehicle, is this a diesel? I'm showing nothing for a diesel in this vehicle. It could be because of location. Are you in the US?

Also, the 2.0L turbo is a gas engine here. Let me know if that is what you have. If it is, temperature information is based on resistance in the sensor. The idea of setting a max alarming temperature isn't possible unless you were to reprogram the powertrain control module.

Let me know.

Thanks Joe, the vehicle is a 2 ltr turbo diesel in Australia. The unit I have installed is called engineguard,it has 2 sensors, one attached to head, one on the gear box, readout on dash. My question basically is how hot can the head get before any damage occurs?

Hi,

I wouldn't want to get much higher than 230 degrees F (110 Celsius). Is that something you can set?

Let me know.

Yes, thanks very much, this is a great service. You might like to google Engine guard, an Australian product that I had installed on a previous vehicle and saved it from cooking an engine when a cooling fan failed. Thanks again Regards, Neal.

You are very welcome. I will check out the engine guard you mentioned. I'm always interested in learning something new.

Take care, Neal, and feel free to come back anytime in the future. You are always welcome here. Also, the Engine Guard info you recommend will be seen by others in the future, so chances are it will help others which is what we are all about. A network of people helping each other. We like getting suggestions and recommendations.
