Mass airflow sensor replacement part

I bought a replacement mass airflow sensor and the new one doesn't have the shiny side like the old one. Does the black cover come off or is it just a different brand and good to go without the shiny side. Sorry for the question I feel it's something I should know.

Hi,

If it is an aftermarket part, it could look different. Is there a "black cover" that is removable? Also, can you upload pics of the parts so I can see what you are referring to?

I don't know if you need them, but the two pics attached below are the directions and pics for removal and replacement are listed. These are specific to your vehicle.

Old one looks like this and the new one this part is black plastic. Does it come off?

I suspect that it is because it is an aftermarket part. If you want, reconfirm with the parts store that the part number is correct for your vehicle. However, it should work fine for you.
