LS Swap?

Mainly needing some advice right now. Transmission just went out in my 89 land cruiser fj62. Expensive repair has parts are hard to come by. Engine is in good shape for underwhelming for todays standards. I am contemplating doing an LS Swap instead. I live in CO so have to do an ERod system. I watched your entire LS Swap series and felt somewhat confident, but now that it has become a reality wondering if it is worth it?? I have very little car mechanic experience but very good with tools. Curious if I should take this on or move on, shops are going to charge around 40k to get done.

Yes, this is a big job so you need to be ready. They have many stand alone kits for the LS swap and you can call the product manufacturers and they will walk you through any problems you may run into and we are here to help as well, ultimately you will need to decide if the car is worth it or not. Go on summit racings website to look for the transmission adapter and engine mount kit to get started. There will be other issues as well such as the radiator and air conditioning so there is a lot to consider. Let me know if you plan to do the swap and we can help step by step on this thread.

To start plus you will need your own engine so it will cost a couple bucks once you are done.
