I took my car in at a Volkswagen service dept to be looked at for Low Oil Pressure alert comes on only when below 2,000 RPMs and also had a small Oil leak. They said it's going to cost a little over $6,600.00 to replace the fuel pump, oil pump, and oil pan. It seems to be sketchy to me. I'm trying to figure out what the actual labor times are for these kinds of repairs and why the heck would I need a freaking fuel pump for only those two concerns.

Wow, that is no joke! Where is the oil leaking from? did they try to replace the sensor first? Also, it could be that the oil pump pickup could be clogged due to lack of maintenance which is common. If the pressure sensor has been replaced, I would remove the oil pan to inspect the oil pump pick up. Here is how the job is done and the hours involved as well:

Lower oil pan, 1.5 hours.

Here is the location of the oil pressure sender as well. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
