Low oil pressure light turns on

Is the engine making any kind of irregular noise? I can tell if the engine is the problem if you upload a short video of the engine idling. Also, what weight of oil are you using? Also, can you remove the oil fill cap and look down inside the engine to see how clean it is? What happens is if the oil has not been changed it can caused sludge inside the engine which will clog up the oil pump pickup lastly the oil pump can be bad, it has a pressure relief spring that may have broken causing low oil pressure, Let pull the oil pan off of the engine to look inside the pan and if its clean lets replace the oil pump. I took it to a garage, and he suggested an oil treatment first. It helped a little. It takes a little longer for the oil light to come on while idling. He said if he pulls the oil pan, he recommends replacing the oil pump also. The engine is very quiet and has lots of zip and pep. Should i have them replace the oil pump? Thank you

Yep, it sounds like the oil pump pick up is clogged, or the oil pump relieve spring has broken. Please let us know what happens.
