When coming to a complete stop, the car's idle (50% of the time) will dive down to 600 RPMs and quickly recover to 750 rpms, nearly causing a stall. My mechanic diagnosed: "scan data shows that the actual and desired minimum throttle PIDS do not match; minimum throttle setting was not complete." He removed the throttle bore assembly and cleaned the throttle plates and performed a throttle relearn procedure using the scan tool. All PIDS are now at the correct settings.
This procedure worked for a thousand miles or so, but the computer seems to have "relearned" its bad behavior and the car is back to the same condition of the RPMs diving down to 600 momentarily at complete stops. What shall I have my mechanic try next on this Toyota Corolla engine?
