Low floor vent heat airflow

I don’t get adequate heat from the floor vents. I can feel some heat in the airflow, but the airflow volume feels much less than from the upper dashboard vents. If I set the mode for both floor and dash vents the air volume from the dash vents is very strong while from the floor vents it is much less. If I set the mode for floor vents only, I don’t feel any more air coming out than with both vent levels open.

I took the car to my regular mechanic, and he said the measured temperature was over 120F at the floor vents. He suggested a core flush and replaced the cabin air filter.
No improvement. Your thoughts? Thanks!

Hello,

This issue could be due to the mode door that controls the air flow, might not be operating correctly. It might be allowing partial air flow to the floor setting.

The mode door is a 'door' that allows air to flow from different modes, like floor, vent, defrost etc.
These doors can get loose or worn and trigger different issues with the air flow.

Do you hear any clicking noises when changing the setting of the air flow?

There is an actuator that controls the mode door. It is possible to have a faulty actuator, which is causing the issue of not engaging in the floor vent all the way.
The mode door actuator is located behind the glove box (see picture below).
